BOV doesn't release until high boost

hi everyone, i was wondering if you guys can help me out a little bit. Well i own two 91 TII, one with a full jspec and the other streetport engine n BnR stage1 upgrade. Well the problem is that my BOV wont release until i hit high boost. I thought that it should release even if you dont get boost and as long as you vacuum it will release some kind of sound. I was told that it might be the actuator (i dont know what it does, all i know is that it is attach to the turbo somewhat). I've seen cars with BOV release with just tapping on the gas and not even in gear. So if you guys know what i can do please help me out. I just want my car to be able to release a loud BOV sound without having to actually get in gear and stepping on the gas until 4k or 5k rpm. So please help me.

not just hybrids, it is mainly because of the lack of vacuum present on rotaries vs piston engines. all BOV's that i know of are designed to blow off for piston engine vacuum levels, some are adjustable, most are not.

you have a bigger turbo than the other cars that can make the BOV go off easier.
basically, you cannot make it go off in vaccume, well.. you can but thats only because when you rev it and get your boost guage to go up to around 0 and snap the throttle shut the pressure will still build behind the throttle blades and your BOV will sound if it's enough. your boost guage is connected behind your throttle blades so it does not really see this rise in pressure in your IC pipes.
cars like the SRT-4 can blow off in vaccume because there turbo's are so damn small they spool instantly with verry little revving.
and you have a bigger turbo so you have to rev it out higher to get the same result.

so, if you want to hear it, peg it out to redline and snap the throttle shut

Are you running it off a "T"?
Get rid of the T!

Does your BOV have a tension adjustment?
You can always loosen it.
I find it going off all the time to be a major annoyance though... :P

im sorry but what is "T", and yeah i do have a SSQV and its not even as loud as my Blitz for some reason. And yeah the only time that i would hear it is either in gear and have boost or in neutral and revving it up to like 6 or 7k rpm.

a "T" is a vacuum T. Ted wants to know what else is on the signal line for your BOV.

well yes im running it off the "T" but is it ok to get rid of the "T". Hooking the vaccum line straight from the engine to the BOV and not hookin it up to the boost senser box is that ok. Does it mess up anything at all and does this will make te BOV go off an easier?
