BOV boost setting

How much PSI do you guys think is safe to open the BOV without much compressor surge?
I mean what is the most PSI you can run without the BOV opening?

I have read conflicting things. Some say 6 PSI is OK some say less.

I had it set way too soft and it was leaking boost big time and not allowing me to build boost.

I don't see how you can set that?

The BOV has one vacuum line running to it?

You floor the car and it goes thru say 12psi. As you let off the gas it senses falling pressure to blow off at like 6psi?

That really didn't make sense

There is a set crew that you can set.

The more you screw it down the tighter the spring is. What doesnt make sense.

If you screw it all the way down it doesn't open at all.
