Bought Mazdatrix differential mounts

Parts: (2) competition rear differential mounts, (1) competition front differential mount
Cost: $220+

Cheaper than stock, more expensive than the racing mounts. It was sad to spend that much just on *mounts,* since I spent $800 to buy the car. The first $100 (water pump) and misc charges (spark plugs, heater/radiator hoses) were easy; this one was a bit tougher.

I welded the front mount solid and turned the rear mounts upside down - defeating the rubber pads.

Cost: Nearly Free

Not true...
In fact, I bet that most of the two upper diff mounts on most FC's are "dead" for most of the FC's here.

Doesn't bother me but I don't drive the car much - only to meets and late night cruises.

The engine and tranny are also solid mounted - its a very positive feel to the car. My point is that if you are going to get very hard mounts anyway - go all out and save some cash in the process.

I think my fear concerning getting the plastic mounts was that it would just be over the edge too rough for me.

In the long run, I may regret getting these mounts, but for now I feel better with the poly ones (even if my logic is completely illogical *making it no longer logic *).

Just called Carolina Driveline; waiting for call back on 410-10A U-joints...

I'm confused...I got my mounts, but they come in "Mazda Genuine Parts" bags...does mazdatrix not make their own competition mounts?

nope, and what sucks is that they can get them but the dealership can't. It's just not fair.

Nope - from what I understand MMR makes the plastic (UHMW) ones. Mazdatrix just adds like a 40% premium to them.

The comp mounts are Mazda Competition Mounts sold through the racer development program. I'm not quite sure how mazdatrix got to sell them, but they definately charge a good bit more than through the development program.

they charge too much for all thier products and things they resell. The only thing they sell that I think is fairly priced are thier solid sway links. Everything else is marked up beyond belief
