Bought a 86 RX-7

Which model would this be? It has manual everything but it is a five lug.... So would it have single piston of 4 piston Brakes??? I didn't think that an 86 came in 5 lug....

It is probably a GXL.....but I don't know my 86 models that well.

RETed will have the answer here shortly I will bet......

I believe it will have the 4 piston brake system. I think the only S4 to get single piston is the 4lug base/SE models.

Yeah, I thought it was the base model (manual everything) but it does have a sunroof. Until I noticed that it had five lug wheels on it and not those phone dial rims on it(thank god). Someone has to know....

GXL would have power windows and a rear wiper (amongst other crap)

I say it has the sport package with an optional sunroof. It should also have a manual steering rack.

But I thought the sport package didn't have 5 lug?!?!?

Maybe sometime in the history of the car some did a conversion?

The sport model did have 5-lug wheels and the 4 piston setup up front. The one I had also had power steering for your information. My sport also had a glass popup sunroof stock.

You have an 87. They had power steering in 87 but not in 86.

I have an '86 Sport sitting at my shop. Manual windows+locks. Power steering+sunroof. No bins (well, it didn't have them when I got the car, anyway).

I can say for certain that it is NOT a GXL.. us GXL guys are pimpin' it in style.. we have all the power, and all of the toys.. well, at least people with stock GXLs have all of the toys.. Mine is sorta missing AAS, A/C and misc. other stuff.. But I still have the power windows, and damn, they're sweet
