Boosteds 87 tii build thread
Since everyones doing it I suppose ill put up my current build thread to keep things entertaining. My existing car is an na-t2 that was only ever half completed. NA trans, NA rear end, NA 4 lug. The underside of it has so much rust that by jacking up under the subframe rails it pushes the seat up. With that in mind I went out and found an 87 TII in wisconsin and purchased it. It needed some help, and love, and interior but thats ok.
On the way up to wisconsin i passed an oddly named porta-potty company.. (First picture) something tells me there is no honey inside :>
Second pic is the car on the trailer with no bumper. Im lucky the thing made it the 230 miles home since apparantly the drivers side rear tire had enough of the tread and started to shed it during the drive.
Thid pic is the inside after cleaning out all the extras i got with the vehicle. It had been painted black and all sound deadening removed, no carpet, and no dash.
Fourth pic is the underhood, flat black and a tad rough.

So now I have it in the garage and figure.. why not paint the engine bay again and give it something a little different. Head to the local hardware store to look for some rattle can paints that will be sufficient and come across something I think will fit the bill. You cant really tell from the pics but its color changing and named galaxy blue. When the car is all said and done it will be black with purple flake and purple pearl.
I didnt go all out and sandblast the engine bay, but it will suffice and looks halfway decent.

tonights update consists of the roll bar install, harness bar, carpet and dash. (sorry for the camera pics. im too lazy to go in the house for a digi cam).
So i repainted the roll bar, im still unsure on who makes it but it works. Simple bolt in. Painted the same color as the engine bay.
Also got the driver side harness in and put the carpet down. Rear bins back in. removed all the vents from the backside of the dash (its a summer car, no need for vents for a/c). Also relocated the logicon controls from being high up on the dash to below the radio. This leaves room for for the gauges as well as a mounting area for the greddy e-01 and controller.

Got a little more done tonight. Finally pulled the motor out of the old car. Cleaned some of it up. Having the upper intake manifold and throttle body sand blasted tomorrow so i can paint/polish. Also put the rear coil overs on the car, set them to halfway and threw on my borbet 18x9 (38mm offset) rims on the rear of the car. I will probably drive it around a bit to see if i like the ride height but i bet i lower it another inch.

Hopefully today ill get the exhaust on, 1 brake line replaced that broke swapping out a strut, drive shaft in, radiator cap on and full of fluids, and take her for a drive.

Finished up the engine bay (wires, hoses, harness etc). Installed passenger seat, started install of driver seat. All thats left is add fluid to tranny, finish installing driver seat, install harness and seatbelt, connect up 2 gauges to signal wires and put the center console back in, rear interior and mount the battery down.
