boost sensor

what happens on a turbo car if you disconect the boost snesor, would this always give the cpu the reading of no boost? and would the car try to componsate and close the waste gate off to try and get the car at normal boost levels?

The ECU fails the signal to a fixed value of 29.9 inhg or atmospheric pressure at sea level I reckon.

I cheated. I went to the FSM and flipped the pages til I found it. It seems there is a fail safe mode for most of the sensors. Like the water thermo sensor will fail to 176 F if a wire is off it or the plug falls off. Same thing with the atmospheric pressure sensor on a series four. It fails to sealevel pressure.
