Anybody ever make a block-off plate for the stock scoop?

Just curious....I've recently went with an FMIC setup and according to what I read and understand, it's best to block off the stock hood scoop. Has anybody ever produced and sold such a thing? I'm sure I can get some sheet metal or something and block it off, but just figured I'd ask. If not, somebody with the means to do so, should give it a whirl. It should be simple and cheap to produce and ship.. Anyway...just a thought.

13b4me...I know you were trying to get a few custom items going...maybe this is a simple project for ya?

there is a cover that you can buy that replaces the plastic insert and covers the opening, making it look like a buldge instead of a scoop, RE-A makes a reverse vented one too.

It's a good idea to block off the scoop, since forcing air into the engine bay actually reduces airflow through the radiator slightly. It should be easy to replace the rubber seal under the hood with a piece of sheetmetal using the same mouting locations.

A vent like the RE-A one is better, but I'd definitely blank it off until you can find/afford one.

That looks ugly. The vented version looks much better IMO, and is also somewhat functional (i.e. lets air out).

slap a piece of plexiglass or something on it and seal it up with some mouldable sealing ribbon.

I went to home depot and got that big sqaure block of grey foam you use to seal around window ac units. Jammed it in the back of the scoop. Sealed

I can handle that...I may go with something like that in the future. Is that piece still produced or is some rare discontinued thing I'll only find for a retarded amount of money?
