Why am I getting boost creep on the stock turbo after about 4 thousand rpm my profec b won't even attempt to hold the boost. Does anyone know how this can be fixed with as little expense as possible.

 

what other mods do you have? if you have a full exhuast and intake you will get creep and there is really no way to stop it. porting the wastegate will help. but you will never get rid of it.

no boost controller can stop creep.

 

porting your wastegate will help matters dramatically, after that, you really have to change turbos to one with a better wastegate system, either an s5 or an aftermarket turbo...

I wonder if a "leaky" BOV could help controll boost creep... by diverting excess air elsewhere...

 

I just ported my wastegate today - s-4. I ported the max area with out going over. I still get nasty boost creep. It's not as bad but definately not holding.

I was going to look into external wastegates. I haven't seen much written on these. Is there a good brand for waste gates.

 

I ported my wastegate as well today hopefully it might help. My brother is an engineer so he's working on an external wastegate for me right now real cheap. He's actually reworking the whole turbo system on my car but until then I hope the port job will help. As far as other mods. I just got a brand new 13b with a fat port from Atkins Rotary. No offense to them, but this was the hardest motor I've ever gotten they sent me the wrong motor the first time, then the next one got hit by a fork lift, and now finally 3 weeks later I got my motor. Full catback system by hks, 3 inch down pipe hks, intake hks 720 primaries and secondaries, fuel pump hks, electric fan conversion kit hks, fcd hks, greedy profec b, intake manifold hks, and soon to come hks front mount intercooler.
