a boost controler for $4?

ok i was looking at mr2 turbos today online and i cam across this site that showed how to make a manual boost controller out of two nipples. would this same concept work on the turbo II's?

All turbos work the same way, so yes, it would work, but it's pretty crude and not very accurate. There are better ways.

I am running with that type of device. I'm not the only one either. It works great. Some guess work and testing comes into play in order to get it adjusted just right but once that's done it's fine. Boost comes up real quick. It's not as fancy as the digital ones, and you can't adjust it from inside the car, and there are no flashy lights, but for a couple bucks it works fantastic.

the ball and spring type like that are the best. it'll spool faster then an electric one and hold boost just as well. it just takes setting it up instead of punching in a number into a box in your car. mine is a home made one and it works great. I spent a few hours one day trying to find the parts to make one but couldn't find them all. so I just bought one off ebay for like $25 cause I'm lazy
