Bonehead mistake, your help is appreciated

I can't for the life of me remember if I put thread lock on the eccentric shaft lock bolt before I put it in. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I've not run the motor yet, but it is mostly back together. Should I just roll the engine back up onto the flywheel, take out the lock bolt, put some thread lock on and put it back together, or will I have to reset endplay?

Has anyone ever run an engine without putting thread lock on the lock bolt?

Thank you in advance.

Are you talking about the main bolt on the front of the eccentric shaft? My buddy has run his with no loctite with no problems but I lock-tite'd mine.

does the fsm say to use loctite? if not then it is not needed. as long as it is torqued to spec you will be fine.

I don't believe the FSM says to use locktite but its best to double check.

You can download a copy at www.rx7city.com
