bolts on diff stripped

bolts on diff stripped

ok guys I just made a couple of passes at the track and boom got under the car the rear drivers side differential mounts is stripped out beyond a fix tried to tack weld it up to drive home but every shift a loud clunk what do i do replace subframe?

You might could try tapping it out so you don't have to replace the whole subframe.

damn I've tried everything am i going to have to replace the subframe i have no idea where to get one

It's been a while since I took my diff out. My car is probably different anyway. Is it possible to buy a longer bolt and just bolt through the floor. Nut on the inside.

thats what I'm starting to think will be the only way damn this sucks i figure i will half to cut the stripped bolt off then drill a hole where the rest of the bolt is through the rear of the car then like you said buy a home depot grade 8 bolt and nut it on both sides do you think this would work it will half to be one hell of a drill bit to go throught the frame is this bad

I don't think it would be that bad. How long of a drill is it? I can only remember the stripped part being like an inch if that.

ok i just ordered the mazdatrix front and rear comp mounts and i will just drill that bolt out and run i through the floor hope that works
