bogging due to fuel pump or filter?

when i let my car warm up , after 5 minutes of driving the check engine light comes on, and the car bogs when i accelerate. it starts in second, i push on the gas the car starts shaking violently. also, when i rev it up it hesitates at first. could this be due to a messed up fuel pump, filter, or maybe a vacum leak?

I'd say, go to autozone and pull the code and find out what that cel is going off for, and that would be the source of the problem. it does sound like fuel though.

clogged cat, she'll run fine up to the point the clog affects the backpressure (around 4K in mine, and it was CLOGGED)

zinch- your sounds like TPS

clogged filter won't buck too much, either- it'll just hit the "point of no acceleration, much like a clogged cat

with a clogged cat, you hit a hard wall, and can't go much beyond it...with a clogged filter, same thing, but it will steadily get worse day by day (I've had a filter so clogged, the car wouldn't go much beyond 20 mph, while "feathering" the gas to keep it going). You'll first notice a filter starting to clog during a race or high- speed run, & she'll slowly get worse...A cat, on the other hand, will happen all of a sudden...

It wouldn't surprise me if you get the code for OMP. That sounds exactly what I was going through until I changed it out. Pull your codes and see if 17, 27, 37 (?) are involved.

well i've noticed if you have a shitty gascap that the bogging can be due to a vaccum in the fuel tank and it is starving your engine for fuel. this happend a few times in my 90' vert before i figured out the problem and now i just leave the gas cap off a little bit and it runs well and never bogs down. pretty damn simple fix sometimes for seemingly PITA problems (pain in the ***)
