Body kit, shaved, lowered ect... just read, its crazy.

Well finally after about 3 years of saving i finally got enough cash up to start my project on my 1986 fc (only 98,000 miles) and because im not a body or motor guy i had my friend do some work on my car, he owns a shop called The Mod Shop in State College P.A, he knows his **** about cars. But any ways back to the project ive been waiting for about 3 years to complete. Here are the Parts currently being installed.
1. Gp Sports Body kit and grill(because i muffed a few parts of if up when i got into a "drifting accident" haha long story)

2. momo rims and tire package (five spoke 17in)
3.coil overs to bring the car back down after adding the rim inches
4. tinted windows
5. Racing Seats
6. plastic pannels on door and kit shaved rear bumper and sideskirts fiberglassed into body for one smooth look all around (but not the bumper because if it gets cracked it will need removed to be fixed)
7. Midnight Blue Metallic Paint Job (orgasm of the ******* eyes)

I just visited the shop two days ago and the car is completly stripped and sanded the doors had putty where the plastic pannels were for the shaved look, seats were out of the car the front kit was off as well as the hood and fenders all being sanded. The kit looks amazing. Any one considering what kit to get, the GP sports looks 100 times better in person, also suprisingly light. Pictures will be posted as soon as the car is done because i will be looking for sponcers at a few car shows down south this summer( my mom lives in georiga) my friend in Hunnington PA is sponcered by ractive, his all wheel drive twin turbo talon is nuts. I want to see if thell be interested in a fc. well ill keep you guys posted.

final price: drum roll please........... 5000 dollers

ill post the pictures when the car is completly finished, and my next project after this is done, is the widely sought out journey of the s4 n/a to the s5 tII motor conversion and from what i hear the s4 n/a bodys are lighter and with the conversion and body work it will make out to be one pritty nice street/show car.

I LOVE RX7s, i will spend what it takes to show everyone that my car is bettter than theirs. haha.

Blue cars are really sexy. But blue looks bad when it fades. But Dark blues are so awsome congrats on your new tricked out fc.

I've looked around a good bit (and on GP sports website, which is in Japanese..) and didn't see anything about them making a body kit for any RX7. Help?

Now be sure to make the car fast, too, it sounds like it looks really awesome, so give it some performance to back up the looks!

yea GP sports makes a kit for the FC, you can buy a replica of the GP sports kit at www.raceonusa.com and at www.autornd.com

raceon also has a replica FC2000 kit with HID's for 1149, cheaper than anyone else and some unique parts.

to me the GP sports kit would look gross on an N/A cause of the large side holes since there is nothing to fit behind it, just blank space, although it does look good with FMIC piping in those things

and yes, pics would be nice, im going to be painting my FC soon and if this color is as nice as you say i may go with it as well

All bodies of the same series weigh the same. The NA FC's are lighter because there's no turbo or intercooler and all the drivetrain components (gearbox, driveshaft, diff, axles) are weaker. A proper TII conversion involves swapping in the stronger and heavier TII parts, which will increase weight to TII levels. If you don't swap these parts in now, you may be swapping them in at a less convenient time...

Sounds like you are doing things right as far as getting the body kit molded to the car

Although, you lost me on the your needing coil overs because of the rim size change.

Your only going to 17" tires....unless your tire size looks like this 225-90-17 then the car height should be ok

That's going to look nice.

Are you replacing cracked/faded interior parts as well?

Also, there's nothing wrong with a NA. They're not as fast, but they do tend to be quite reliable (after your first rebuild & you replace all the old worn out parts), and run just fine on cheap gas.

well from what i read on here everyone that has one is happy with it, and the basic consenses is that stand alones perform the best, and also cost the most, but what im going for first is just a strait stock drop in other than that i might add an exhaust and intake but i think im gonna build it alittle bit more for drift. DRIFTING is my biggest high. so im going to build a car that supplys me more effeciently with my addiction.

I just hope you don't bump a curb with your rear cover when you're drifting. There'll be a crack-o-rama if you do.
Whenever moulding a fiberglass panel in with steel, one thing is for sure... it'll crack someday. Maybe someday later, maybe someday soon. With them both expanding and contracting at different rates, it's gonna happen.

Car's looking good though.
