Body Damage....Body Men Come Hither.

Alright, I'm debating about whether to pick up another RX-7, so I'll give you a bit of a run down.

1990 S5 TurboII
170,XXXKM
Engine has about 80,000km on the stock port rebuilt
Car was pretty well taken care of
Apparently the current owner redlines the car while it's cold...

However, there's one catch..The car was driven into a pole...

Here's a before pic:

And an after:

(and for those of you wondering, yes this is metal's old TurboII...I seem to be collecting them)

As for price, I don't know what we'd be talking about. The main thing I have going for me is i know 2 out of the previous 3 owners, as well as the history, the price the car's worth, and the price the current owner payed for it.

I'm thinking a somewhat fair price would be 4500ish (taking into account that FC's are more expensive in Canada, as well as how the current owner payed $8500).

eek gas tank area....looks like lots of flex...fixing those damaged area for most are easy, but im more concerned about the warpage of the frame.

As far as the price you will be discussing with metal....jee i dunno normally 4.5k CAD is steep and what you would pay for a decent TII. But since its Metals i have no clue..why dont you start tallying up the cost of a repair and subtracting that total from metals price if he were to sell it as if it were without damage.

I realized I should've made this more clear. I'm asking for a guestimate of what type of cash I'd be looking at to get this fixed. Secondly, considering the pricing history of the car beneath, the damage, and the 'care' of the current owner, would a $4500-4000 price be fair in your opinion?

Nono, he sold this to a local dumb *** who drove the **** out of it. In a sense I'd be saving it if I bought it..I should've also said that I've known the car's previous 2 owners. For example the car was bought for $5000 off of an estate sale (original owner), the metal bought it for $6000, then the current owner bought it for $8500 and drove it into a pole.

Well without really looking it over under neath, thats eaisly up around $1000 by the time its painted if you bring it to a shop.

If the engine and drivetrain components are worthwhile keeping around then its probably not a bad deal for $4K.

That's right around what I figured. I think I might go see it sometime this week, as well as run it by a body shop to see what charges I'd be looking at.
