Cool BNR stage 4 + old non ported TII motor = TOAST!!

Yeah, I think I nukified my motor this weekend... We originally thought it was fouled plugs but the compression test didnt look good.. Front was around 90-90-90, and back was around 60-60-90....

Been trying to blow that thing up for a year now...

Who wants to build me a new motor?....

LMAO!! If he wasnt so far away, I might contemplate that. But shipping would murder me. I am actually suprised that motor held on as long as it did...

Haha... congrats... I think... Maybe you just bent a seal, not shattered it.

Heck, while you're gonna take it apart, why not do 3mm seals, cryo treat the bearings and stationary gears, and port the crap out of it. Hell, dowel and pin it too... make it a beast.

I'd personally love to see what yours lookes like once you open it up... take pics if you can!

BTW, what's a 'stage 4'... I've only heard of his 'stage 3' ...

actually, I think this was brewing for a while.. The motor was getting hot start problems, etc.. The stage 4 just helped it along. Still runs and drives, just has a poor idle. I think I am gonna pull it now before I do some real damage..

'Stage 4' is something BNR only does on S5 Turbos, the highest you can go on an S4 turbo is 'Stage 3'

Check out Rx7Store.net for the details on em all.

Yo,

Hey Jay, do the ATF trick! It'll bring that compression right back up!

Yeah he quoted my S5 with a stage 3 but I didn't have the $$ at the time. I just opted for a rebuild and a ported WG for now.

I forgot rx7store sold his stuff... haven't been there in a while.

it's weird how it's usually the rear rotor to go out.

Less cooling from the coolant. Simple.

Did you ever get it on the dyno with that turbo? I don't mean to hyjack your thread but if you haven't do you know of anybody that has? That's definatly the turbo I plan on running and I'm curious to see some real world numbers. Too bad about your motor though.

That's too bad, I guess we'll have to rebuild. Im guessing the turbo is probably good for 380hp.

On rx7store.net site i think they are saying its good for 350-370rwhp. I'm interested to see what actually has been done with it. I'm really only interested in 325-350. I don't think i'll be willing to push my setup quite to the edge. What kind of power is needed for a very low 12 second 7?
