Blowthrough carb prep

I'm curious about EXACTLY what mods have to be performed on a sidedraft carb for it to be workable in a blowthrough application. I was under the impression that it was imperative to have the throttle shaft sealed at both ends, but when reading through Maximum Boost the other day I noticed what seems to be a contradiction to this. The book states that almost all seepage at the throttle shaft is merely annoying and doesn't effect the carb's performance. Did I misread that or what? BTW, I'm using a Dellorto 48mm. Thanks for the help guys.

Info I'd like to know... I'm thinking about ditching my entire shitty EFI system for a blowthough... but ultimately I hope EFI with a standalone would be better... but much more money....

Not really more expensive dude, probably work out the same, or cheaper to go aftermarket EFI nowdays.

Blowthough carb setups are a thing of the past now as aftermarket EFI has gotten so much cheaper. (and much much better than a blowthrough setup)

Make sure the fuel bowel is pressurised the same as the incomming air or else you will definatly run into major probs.

Leakage around the throttle shaft is negligable.
