Blown Apex Seal Repair Questions

Ok it's official, I have a blown apex seal and I have a few question about the repair.

I have been quoted $3,500.00 from a shop here in Atlanta to rebuild the engine. Does this sound necessary and if so does the price sound fair?

I was thinking more along the lines of $1,000 - $2,000 for the repairs.

Can anyone recommend a good shop in the Atlanta area?

Trust me call Revolutionary Rotary. 2100 bux for a roubuilt with the98+ rotors. they can port it for you too. They came highly recomended to me. and I am passing on the knowledge. they use 2 peice 3mm apex seals. so you nevehave to worry about dropping the seal again. good luck.
you will have to give them your old motor. go ahead and get the pinneapple racing sleeves too

If you have not fucked a rotor housing all you need is Hurley apex seals and side seals, new corner seals and a full gasket and spring set. Check the bearings if they look good then leave them alone that way the break-in period will be much less a little bronze streak is normal. All will be less than $1,000 USD. To get the racing sleeves from pineapple all you need to do is send your old sleeves in.

Well the rotor seal and gasket kit alone is about $1000... then if you need any new housings or rotors they run about $350-500 apiece... so a blown engine could be looking at over $2000 just in parts.

For you guys who havent figured it out yet, revolution rotary is nothing more than a mazda dealer who started selling parts at a decent price, marketing on the internet, and has a couple of tech's buildig engines. The parts guy who took over for the first guy they had cant even get orders right half the time, so I quit ordering my parts from them. The way I see it, if they cant even send me the correct parts list, how the hell can they put it into an engine? And what kind of "racing" do they do in idaho nowdays anyway?

almost double what these guys are offering
Our point exactly. What is their warranty, one year, 2 years? Big deal...
