Blower motor does nothing???

Basic info: 88 TII
Everything was working fine then all the sudden the blower motor just wouldn't turn on or do anything. When I move the fan speed selector on the logic from off to any speed/on all I hear is a relay click. I have pulled off my blower motor assembly and connected the blower motto directly to 12v and it spins right up. I've read that if it only come on on hi it is the EX-HI relay, but haven't found anything about if it doesn't come on at all...anyone with input is appreciated. My only thoughts are that either my power transistor or my IGN relay went out, IE-7 or 8...any input or thoughts?

I was missing the EXHI relay when i bought my car but the prices for replacement were insane.
Same symptoms as you, just a click and no movement. I jumpered the relay and it works fine, has variable speed and everything. I can take a pic of how i jumpered the relay because i cant remember it off the top of my head

My car is a 90 GXL so i dont think the wiring should be too different, if im wrong feel free to correct me
heres a what i did

Be sure to check your room fuses first before you start doing anything funky

...but the bigger b/w is the one that needs power for the fan... Mazda and their wiring is way to advanced... So u just jumped from the red/yellow which should be a hot wire, to the blue/yellow wire correct?

red yellow to blue yellow is what i have jumpered and its working that way, I checked myself a minute ago and i'll check it again just to be sure
at first glance it looked like i had BY and BW on the two pins opposite to the RY and the Y, but I dont know if the wires are just faded from being old, but they both look like Blue white right now

What colors/sizes are the wires coming out of your connector?

I thought mine looked fine too, I spent days troubleshooting the entire system, even replaced the logicon(new from mazdatrix) to find out it was the thermal fuse. idk how to test it, if you can easily get a replacement (which you can) id just try it.

If for whatever reason you end up wanting/needing another blower, PM me... I'm about to tear mine out.

Ok... fine. I'd now rather burn it before giving it to you for free. Sorry I offered.

I read the FSM before posting when I had the same issue and fixed it.

Use the one for the 89 model as it covers that area in a lot more detail. Seriously, if you troubleshoot with that as a guide you will find the issue. Mine was wiring.
