Blog: 91 coupe drift/time attack build up

great build man! You and Junpower are NA junkies and you both show the rest of the people out here that you don't NEED turbo or lots of power to drift a car. Keep on rocking and post up the pics of the trip.

Thats rad that you drove it across country!!!
I would have sooo done that in my old GTU if i'd had the chance, N/A rotaries are so reliable if you just do regular mantenance.
Paint is sick.
If your ever near GA hit me up! I've got my T2 now, and i always have time to bs with other rx7 guys.

Thanks again for all the compliments
Update 9-18-07:
Well, not much has changed on the car right not. This thing is put on hold because of my summer internship and tomorrow I am moving to southern california to go to school at UC Irvine. Most of my attention is going towards that, but the car is coming with me and it still is putting down some rubber at drift events. I went to an event with it while I lived in New Jersey this summer, and I just finished an event this past sunday at Thunderhill Raceway, with the guys of thunder drift. It was a fun event, I'd like to go again someday. Here are some pics from that event, enjoy the slideshow! *jus click the pic to view slideshow

Thanks for the support GWS!! Its nice to see people actually like what I'm doing instead of bashing me for drifting or racing my rx7 and making it look all crazy. Sometime in the future this car will be even crazier, hopefully my driving will put on a magazine who knows. I just barely turned 21, still have some years of school left, but when I graduate and make money this thing will be crrrrazay!!! Thanks always guys, I should be going to an event at buttonwillow raceway the day after thanksgiving. If I get vid from the thunderhill event I'll post it up. See ya.

Dead stock, I even put back the crazy snorkel intake thingy lol, just a gutted cat in the exhaust, that's it!! My friends laugh at my suspension and when they ride along, they're like WTF!? How do you do that!? lol I've been doing it for so many years now, you don't need power just technique.

What kind of rims are those red ones you've got? I live in Irvine man, I'm on the other side of town, but I've got friends all over the area right next to UCI. We should meet up. I've been wanting to learn to drift my NA for some time now, but I haven't found a good area to learn, or anyone to show me some pointers. Great job on the car!

No Alex, thank you. You've shown what can be done on a budget if you are willing to do alot of work yourself and be patient when looking for parts.
I haven't had a chance to try drifting yet since there is no one holding drift events close enough to drive to and risk breakage. But I still love my RX7s. I autocross my weekend warrior since my "race" car is awaiting reconstruction. But as soon as that car is done, I'll be running PCA, and SCCA PDX events as well as taking it to NASA events and hopefully, drifting.
Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming.

Hey thanks guys! Well, I'm officially in So-Cal. I will be moving into UC Irvine this sunday, but that school has already given me some bad first impressions, the faculty there doesn't know anything about the school, it's like they're all new! lol Hopefully I will be getting an acceptance letter from UCLA in october and get outa of UCI. But for sure if you so-cal guys on here ever want to go to some events, or meet up I'm always down. I'm going to Sevenstock this saturday! I can try being an instructor too, it's easier if it's an FC. I tried to give corolla guys and 240 guys advice but they end up messing up cause I tell em to go faster lol. But yea thanks again, and I might see some of you soon. Later

Thank you pedro! Yes does anybody wanna buy my track day at Buttonwillow the day after thanksgiving? I'll give you rides all day long! lol
Maczpayne-I thought of UCR, if UCLA doesn't want me, and UCI drives me that nuts I might just do it. Then again I also want to try going to school overseas so I might escape that way too!

Naw nothing new lol. I wish! I am in need of a new suspension so badly!!! My cut stock springs and stock replacement GR-2's are starting to go bad on me lol. I've driven on em so far! To New York and back! lol I'm debating between getting some AGX, Illuminas, or Konis for the time being and then get some ground control coilover sleeves since I can't afford the real deal. I don't know if I will ever be able to afford the real deal for a few years but hopefully that'll be good enough to make some real stuff happen.
Anybody got some adjustable shocks they wanna give me!? Or good coilovers!? yea!? come on you know you want to! lol

Hmm, makes me think I'm nuts to think that Buying 2.5K JIC Coilovers for my FC would be a good idea.
The thing is, this one local guy did it... to a stock(with a corksport 3" and a boost controller) 10th Ani T2.
And, now I want to! But... he went to like, the "Laguna Seca Skip Barber racing school" thing... so his family must be either loaded on in the Mafia.
