block off plate series 5

I have an 89 5-speed convertible. Today I am having the RB header put on and with the header kit I recieved a block off plate to remove the smog pump. Is this a wise thing to do for the series 5. Take into account that I have removed the cats and I am not worried about passing emissions. But I keep hearing something about the 5th and 6th ports not being able to open up. What is the wise thing for me to do?

the airpump opens up your 5/6 ports. you will lose power if you remove the airpump.

Unless, ofcourse, you devise an electric air pump setup to actuate your Auxilliary ports via RPM Switch and Relay.
