Angry Bleeding master cylinder

I just tried to change the brake fluid in my 86. I believe (how could this ever be possible?) that I let the master run dry during the bleed of the left rear. Now I get lots of air and some fluid when I bleed this brake.

The master, that feeds the rear brakes gurgles and pumps air into the reservoir when I try to bleed the left rear. My manual says you can bleed the master on the car. Is this what I need to do? And how do you do this.

My manuals says to pump the brakes and hold it. Then loosen the fitting nut, tighten and repeat until the air has been expelled. What fitting nut are they talking about? I loosened the one on the bottom of the master that runs to the rear brakes and this didn't work

Thanks!

What!!!!!?????? Ok, where to start. I assume you have your "master",brake pads, calibers, lines etc. installed on your car correctly. To bleed your brakes you may need another person to pump the brake pedal. Fill your "master"( with fuild spec. in your manual )almost to the top ( do not put cap on). Each cal. has a bleeding nipple on it. (for removing air in the lines) when you look at the cal. You should be able to tell what they are. You will need to bleed all 4 cals. #1 Pump your pedal a few times and on the last pump hold it to the floor.
#2 Open the nipple a bit intill air and fluid comes out. (Friend still holding pedal on floor)
#3 Snug the nipple and then have friend relesse the pedlal . repet #1 through #3 a couple of times. Do it intill no more air comes out of that cal.
Make sure you do not pump all the fluid out of the "master" when it starts to get low ( where air can get in) refill it. All your doing is getting all the air out of the lines. Do this to all 4 cals.

Good luck this is not a hard thing to do. scale 1 - 10 =1

I do understand the 1 of 1-10 brake bleeding. However, I did let the fluid get low while I was doing this and got air in the master cylinder. This is what I was asking about bleeding. Now when I try to bleed the brakes, I get little or no pressure when pumping. I believe I have gotten air in the master cylinder and need to bleed it. I need a technuque for this.

Thanks

Continuing with the brake problem, I tried to bleed the master cylinder by removing the line leading to the back brakes at the master. I bled this until I thought there was no more air coming out. There is fluid coming out when the pedal is depressed. After closing the line back up, I see bubbles pumping into the reservoir when the brake pedal is pumped. Is there still air in the master cylinder, or do I need to just replace the master. I believe if it is still pumping fluid when the padeal is depressed since it does push out fluid with the line off.

Thanks
