Blacked out tails
My taillights were hideous. They were faded to a scratchy whitish grey.
So today after the drift event I blacked them out
Unfortunately I didn't take any pics before but here is an old pic I found.

The paint

I cleaned the surface then started to sand the surface with a fine grit paper to give the paint something to stick to. Then I sprayed the black primer. Let it dry then wet sanded. Then I used the Duplicolor Black auto paint. This stuff has survived on my wheels so it should be good for a while.
2 coats later I have this

THen after the smoke paint on the lenses.

I didn't want to get dangerously dark so I left them decently shaded. You can easily see them when lit up.

Blurry install shot

Then the important shots.
Brakes pressed

Running lights

If I had a chance to redo it I woudl have tinted the lights first, and let it dry. Then masked it off and sprayed the enitre light. I got a bit of tint overspray on the rest so it's not as shiny as it could have been.

Looks good. itll probably look better if you tint the reverse and turn signals darker. theyll look cleaner because its goign to be red and black isntead of all those colors lol.
Looks good! Sorry about the blank post above, went to upload pics and found I didn't have them sized right. Here they are:
During the day:
Tail lites and backup lights at night:
I have since painted the bezels around the tailights so it looks uniform across the back.
I used the tailite blackout paint also.
I am debating on wether to paint the bezels around the lights and tag red to match the body. I have seen some members on here who have white FC's with white bezels and it looks pretty sharp. So, black or red?
Later,
Bill

I got it from a tuner shop.
They charged me $25 but you can get it for around 15-18 on ebay
search for smoke tint spray or vht since that's a brand name
