biggest streetable turbo?
hey guys i was just wondering, what is the biggest turbo that is suitable for the street? i was told something in the range of a T-66. i want something that makes big numbers at low psi but i dont want it to reach max boost at like 6,000rpm. thanks guys

eeeek big turbo with big hp at low psi?? thats almost an equation with no answer..... call up your local HKS rep and ask them what ball bearing turbo would suit your needs, best advice i can give is pick up the gt2835r( i think its the nameZ) its a moderate sized turbo with great response that if tuned correctly can bring good numbers

hahaha, wellllllllllllll this is uN possible to say. every ported engine is different. if your exhaust ports were hogged out then you could most likely spool a T-66 pretty damn quickly.

gt35 series would be a good all arounder. But lets face it what streetable is to one person may not be to another, their are people on here that street T70's

Don't call hks unless you want to throw your money away to pay for all that tuner advertising.
My advise is get a large front side turbo and a small backside like a .81 or .84 for large power number a extremely quick spool. I have a pt67mm front side now and my new will be a pt76mm. Of course the 67 would be more than wanted by most, but I am not most.
With the advancement of these new turbo designs at precision turbo what used to be known as a laggy t66 is now spooling 1500 rpms sooner and is just right. I would suggest anything 66mm and above for power in the 500's.

Wouldn't it depend on what peressure ratio you are trying to obtain in order to determine what size turbo you should use in terms of compressor efficiency? There are many factors that come into play on what type of numbers your looking to obtain.

if you want to be able to just give it gas and zoom thru traffic or pass someone easily on the highway that is in your way etc.. etc... you know, basic streetness hahaha then reaaaaaaallly do your research on just slapping a big turbo in there. a PT72 with .84 hotside still won't make full boost (12 or higher) before 5000 on a supra... i can't imagine it being any better on a rotary. really ask some of these people with big turbos how it is in the daily routine. yes the power is awesome, but if your just trying to scoot around the city it's all or nothing.
as said earlier a GT35RS would be probably one of the best compromises as it can make 400+rwhp and spool up almost instantly. but it's $$$$

man you obiously have no idea what you are talking about so please stop.
Any .84 divided backside will spool 12lbs under 5k with ease even on stock ports on even the largest front sides.

Did he just compare a rotary to a poopra? Tune will also play a sizeable factor. off the top of my head...a comressor wheel 60-1 or bigger., in a "E" housing & if undivided like a "P" trim wheel with like a .94 to a 1.0 Tune, engine porting , and other peripherals will also drive your goals. The T4 family will offer alot of choices and combinations...not to mention very good prices.
