Better Gates

Hey just wondering if anyone has any experience with working on their shift gates? Any way to make the gates easier to shift into?

What is wrong with the gates as they are now? I do not know about you, but even after 140K on the original transmission, I can still shift without hardly any notchiness.

The gate width is cast in iron & aluminum.

I have thought about narrowing the sides on the tip of the internal control lever.
That would make the gear selections, especially 3rd, a little wider target.

You know what the biggest difference I found in shifting the car was??? I but Banzai Racing Poly Motor mounts in it.. I haven't missed 3rd from second at the strip since.

After I installed a torque brace, my shifts got way better.

But now after installing a light flywheel & copper clutch, I have to completely retrain my shift habbits.
