Best wet sand methods?

Finally decided to do the repair from my little guardrail incident (for those of you that heard about it ). I just used spray paint, masked the area off, and layered on a few coats.
Obviously that sticks up a few layers above the original paint for the rest of the car and I'm wondering what the best wet sand method would be to blend it?

start with 1000 grit and work up to 1500. Be careful of going through paint. Make sure spray paint is dry before buffing with compound and machine

The best wet sand is at HOOKIPA on Maui, HAWAII. A close second is Bellows Field, OAHU, HAWAII. Fishermans Huts in Aruba ain't bad either. Any kite surfers out there?

Its ******* wet sanding!
Move the sand paper back and forth like you're masturbating.
Don't move in circles.
For christ sakes, are we gonna see a "How do I should I hold it when I pee thread"????
If you can't figure out how to SAND properly, you shouldn't be doing your own body work, at the very least, let alone any automotive work at all.

you have to wait until the paint is dry. spray paint takes longer. i would use 1500+ grit paper too.

Calm down. I was just making sure wet sanding was as easy as it sounds. I get pretty frustrated with the posts that a retarded chimp could figure out as well, but when I get that way, I take a break. I would suggest you consider this as well

Where are my manners? Thanks to everyone else for confirming what I thought, including scathcart and his "frustrated at idiot post ratio" induced response
