Best way to prevent rust on the frame

I'm restoring my 1988 FC and have torn the entire front, rear and doors off. Now the concern of the car hasnt been rust but I am fixing the spots that need it, on the front frame underneath the bumper and fenders small bits of surface rust has formed and am just curious on the best way to prevent it from coming back. I was originally looking at Raptor lining but learned it could just trap the moisture without me ever noticing, are there any paints that help prevent rust or what measures should I take to make sure it doesnt come back

Depending on metal deterioration, but if surface rust, just grind it off, rust inhibitor primer, paint.

That is about it. There is no silver bullet for rust, it is cancer. Cut out the bad stuff sand or grind the rest. There are plenty treaments available too, some research is helpful. A few extra bits here, be sure to spray the inside of the rockers and other unibody parts. Painting inside will just seal in moisture and dirt and make things worse. My coworker treated a truck frame with your really popular rust stopper. It worked well but the inside rusted and it would crumble with a hammer strike. You can do your research on the treatment needed. I setteled on Corrosion Free, some use fluid film and perhaps there is some better stuff out there too.

I used the Por and Eastwood stuff…sprayed in the frame rails etc. have not seen anything new and it’s been 1/2 dozen years. It was well clean and stuck the sand blaster hose in the rails….

The Eastwood stuff was on the inside? I saw a frame rebuild on a video with this stuff. Its good to know that it works.

it’s got a fancy tip at the end so it sprays in multiple directions. To be fair, I would not assume 100% coverage…but it’s the most cost effective way I knew of…..
It comes in spray cans with an applicator hose. Cars has been garaged as well since I did it and it has only been wet a few times……so not sure how much it has been “tested”.
