Best way to get Fuel lines off fuel rail?

Trying to get the fuel lines off the fuel rail... Can't get the upper intake off because the stupid fuel lines are in the way and won't let the upper slide up from under them :\ The lines just seem hellafied stuck =[ Any ideas on how to get them off?

I usually just cut them down the side, and replace them. Its alot easier then taking chances with old fuel line.

check the side of the intake by the firewall. There is a bolt there that holds the VAC rack in place. That damn bolt has gotten me once or twice.

Jarrett

*edit* and that PB blaster has probably ruined your hoses..

pb blaster isn't made to eat rubber and such, it's made to like umm soften it up again like when it was new.. Good for O rings and such..

All though I think I shouldn't have started this project because I'm at a point where I have no idea what to do now

What are you trying to do? And I agree, replace the fuel hoses. Yes, you may have gotten them off w/o damaging them. HOWEVER, chances are they are old as hell anyways and are more prone to cracking than a nice new soft one

I'm trying to get the lower intake off so I can clean my aux port sleeves off.. I'm down to the lower intake now and I can see 1 of the sleeves and it's dirty as hell, the other one I can't see yet. hehe

Never heard of that before...Interesting. I still would replace the hoses instead.

This procedure (aux port cleaning/removing) is a lot more difficult than its made to seem on here. If you have never really worked on a fuel injection system (ie removed and replaced one) I would not recommend you try it without competent supervision. We all have to learn sometime though and as I now know a lot more about working on mine because of this.

If you are going to pull off all your intake components make sure you are doing every mod you want to do at the same time. That way, after you have busted knuckles enough and got it back together it will be worth it.
