TRY THIS FIRST!!!!!

Screw extractors are great to get the existing bolt out, if it works theres no need to tap it and die it.

Just drill a small hole for the extractor to grab, and your set. Penetrating lube first is always a good idea. Space may be limited, guaranteed to be a pain in the ***. I would try and keep everything the same size, if possible.

Get some left handed drill bits. They will usually spin out the bolt, but if not you have your hole for the extractor.

Removing broken bolts is a learned skill so if you have not done it before, practice on something worthless before you ruin a good assembly.

The only real option is to drill out the center and then use an extractor (DO NOT BREAK THE EXTRACTOR IN THE BOLT!) or a reverse drill. If you can't get the broken bolt out, then you will need to drill it out to the size of the hole and retap or use a HeliCoil.

I forked over the money to get a snap on stud remover set. They lock on to the threads so that they turn the bolt and work quite well. And aaron is right it is a learned skill.

It's even more of a pain when you realize your drill won't fit anywhere in the engine bay...
