Best Vert Replacement Top

I plan on replacing the top on my Vert soon. I am aware of AA Best Co. and Robbins and am curious about what you all recommend.

There obviously is the price difference, but for those who have replaced the top, which do you recommend I get?

Thanks.

OK, this is just my two cents because I have a vert too.

The OEM replacement is vinyl, so the problems that we have with the current top will result again in the replacement. Mainly the problem with the top tearing at the pockets. I know that Icemark says that this won't happen if you don't put the top down when the weather is below 50 F. He is most likely right about this because I've never seen him wrong yet. The botom line is that it can happen and that is because the vinyl has less elasticity when it is cold. so its tight and weak and it tears.

What I think is that the german cloth is a better material. AA best has this for our verts, I'm not sure about Robbins. The reason I think that this would be better is that it is more elastic than the vinyl. Its cloth and it pulls like spandex.

Now I haven't installed a top before and I haven't meet anyone with anything but the vinyl tops. I have seen some BMWs with the german cloth tops and I do like the way they feel. I don't have any information about how well they fold in putting the top up and down (Someone should find out). I also don't know how to clean and protect the german cloth. So there are a lot of unknowns right now for me. I will be shopping and researching this for a while because my top REALLY needs to be replaced. I'll post if Tofu, Fong and I change our tops.

Is stretchy bad? or good?

I think the cloth on the BMWs and Benzs looks good.

Anybody else?

Any of you replaced your top yourself?

I need to replace mine this summer. I think the price that aabest has seeems real reasonable.
I will probably order one next month, but in the meantime I will try to gather as much information including pros and cons of self installation.

Thanks

I'd say that stretchy is very good, the RX to seems to want to stretch but that vinyl can only give sooo much.
