Popping the Clutch, which components are damaged over time, by doing this?

Same question as posed by the topic, what different components are harmed by this technique of starting the car when it stalls? I try to keep from doing this because I am afraid of what damage it might cause.

Thanks,

you mean letting the clutch out while you are rolling but the engine isn't running? Its not going to really hurt anything, but you need to correct the situation that causes the engine to stall.

I'm also not aware of any damage it would cause either, but I also wouldn't do it all the time.

why are you doing this anyway??? is there something wrong with your starter/car thats making you have to do this. if so what the problem, it would make more sense to ask how to fix this than to live with the problem and have to go through the hassle of bumpstarting. one day your engine is going to carbon lock, not knowing this ur going to bump start your car, then youll end up scoring your housings and ruin your engine.

No it isn't anything to do with starting it, it is my ****-tay *** idle. I am almost sure my BAC needs to be cleaned or replaced. I saw the write-up for it and I plan to do it soon. The problem is that the car holds idle like CRAP. The previous owner said that it never idled like that until he had a kill switch installed. Any ideas why the wiring of a kill switch would cause my idle to suck? The reason I am nearly sure it is the BAC is because when I turn my heat on full blast from the off position the car will try to die.

heh, that sucks, but 100% true -- i had shitty idle for a couple weeks (200ish rpm, it would stall before it would catch on decel)... caught myself popping the clutch w/o really thinking about it

I will admit, I was an addict to clutch popping for a while there. I try to heel-toe whenever I can but it is annoying to twist my leg like that on depression of clutch everytime I come to a stop sign/light.

Could the kill switch affect my idle in ANY way? I don't see how it could?
