Best spark plugs?

I haven't really heard much about spark plugs for rotaries from different companies. But I've seen on Greddy's and Nology's sites that they have high performance plugs. Nology has a set of the Silverstone series plugs for the RX-7? Anyone know anything about these aftermarket plugs? Is it just best to stick with NGK's?

Stick with the standard NGK's. You can't go wrong.

Denso Iridiums are the best for the 13B, but at $35 a plug expensive.

platinum NGK's, i think BUR7EQ and BUR9EQ or something like that. I think in japan some people use HKS plugs, they are like $60 dollars each and not really sold in america.

Cool. Looks like NGK's are the way I'll be going.. but isn't there a certain setup to use for track racing, and a different setup for just street driving that involve the stock NGK's? Like using 4 trailing or 4 leading plugs instead of 2 of each?

In the 270,000 miles I've put on rotary engines, 3 years ago I put the Denso's in my S5 TII. 670 miles to be exact, TI stopped firing. Took them back and never have tried anything else but NGK. Could have been 1 bad plug, but can't ever remember having a new plug go bad in any of my cars, piston or rotary. Once was enough for me.

you run four of the same plug?

two BUR9EQ
two BUR7EQ

stocked at your local Advance Auto Parts store.
you can't go wrong with the NGK plugs.

Just thought I heard somewhere it was better to use all four of one kind for some reason. I didn't think it would be, but I just wanted to make sure.

i have run both the ngk standard issue and hks power plugs, loved the hks hated the price, ngks perform well and are inexpensive especially if you need to change on a regulare basis due to flooding (man that sucks). but if money is no object then by all means the hks are one nice set of plugs.

I use the NGK Iridium IX.

They are gappable, which I prefer, and I can get them anywhere. Up here in the frozen tundra of Canada, we have to order stock plugs from the dealer. Fawk that.

For me they are worth $35 for leading plugs.

I burn out conventional leading NGK plugs in around 2k-3K miles. The Irdiums have around 10K miles on them right now with no wear what so ever.

Now I do normally stock the NGK (BUR9EQ, BUR7EQ), and NGK platinums (BUR9EQP
, BUR7EQP) on my webstore, so I don't pay much for them, but for the added HP (about 3 peak HP on the last dyno run I did over NGK plats) and the increased mileage (for both the plug life and gas mileage), The Denso Iridiums are the only way for me to go.

You might feel other wise.

I run the colder 9s all around also, a colder plug slightly decreases your chance of detonation. The 7s were supposedly speced for emissions purposes.
