best single plate clutch that fits stock style flywheel

I'm looking for something that can handle about 400 WHP max.

Currently I have the XTD clutch and its just starting to slip with maybe 325 WHP.

Also I hate the way it engages.

I want something that engages more like a stock style clutch, and I don't care how hard the pedal is.

Any thoughts?

I love my centerforce dual friction clutch it's the strongest non-puck clutch i could find and one side is organic so it's got fairly smooth egagement. Also i don't know if you've looked into them at all but the centrifigal(sp) wieghts make the clutch clamp harder as the rpms rise.

List:

Centerforce DF

Thanks for the input,

anyone else?

EDIT: the centerforce is pretty cheap, but will it handle at least 400 WHP

ACT modified S/S with the heavy pressure plate (heavy NOT Xtreme!)

why not the extreme with the SS disc?

how does it compare with the SPEC stage 2 clutch?

I don't like spec clutches i've seen 3 of them go up prematurlly, 2 with rivits beeing sheered off the pressure plate. I've had no problems at all with my car and the centerforce. I'd go ACT over spec but thats just me. I used to be very interested in the spec setup; light flywheel, clutch and pressureplate until i saw so many go up so fast

edit: If you want decent engagement and good holding power and don't care if clutch effort is high you might want to try to get a stronger pressureplate and more mild clutch like a stage 4 pressure plate and stage 3 clutch

Ok so I am leaning tword the act extreme with the SS disc?

Can anyone confirm that this will handle 400 WHP?

Also I do go drag racing, but don't slip the clutch much, with the twin turbo's I have no problem launching about 4K rpm, with ET streets, I just dump the clutch and get a tiny amount of tire spin before gripping real good.

The SPEC stage 2 clutch seems too have equal or better specs, can anyone who's tried it comment on it?

no no extreme PP, too heavy, breaks clutch fork pivot point, HP isn't what you have to hold its torque that you have to worry about. What torque will you be making is the question

I would have to say act either 4 puck or 6 puck. I never had a problem with ether one. I have been using them for years and they never let me down. good luck

Does it break the actual clutch fork or the pivot ball?

Also, I don't want a puck clutch. I can't stand the feel of a puck at engagement.

I'm pretty sure the ACT SS is only rated for 330ft/lbs
