so i need a set of 720cc's for my secondaries?
the fcon says it is remapped for stock setup... injectors and all. if I get bigger injectors I have to get a "gcc" and get it tuned on a dyno.
why do i need the bigger secondaries? will the stock injectors duty cycle be maxed out?
i got the car for $700 almost 2 months ago. it has been in the shop since then getting the works. injectors cleaned, f-con, 3" turbo back, all vac lines replaced, boost leaks fixed.
so im pretty sure I know what im doing. I learned all I know from this site. 2 and a half month of reading everything I could get my hands on, and I feel I know alot.
so help me with the final tune things so I wont blow it. I want to run 10 psi because I have read the fcon will safely adjust the fuel to handle 14psi with stock injectors and a walbro, But that the stock IC will be heat soaked at 11-12 psi so dont go that high.
SO LET ME CHANGE THE QUESTION....
1: WILL 10 PSI BE TOO MUCH FOR THE MODS I LISTED?
2: DO I NEED 720S, AND THE GCC TO BE SAFE AT 10-11 PSI?
3: WITH FMIC AND 720S CAN I RUN 12-13PSI WITHOUT BLOWING IT UP???
i used caps so people would see the questions and not read half my post and move on...

Hey 88mazdarx7turbo, please be smart about modding and be really carefull driving your car. These cars are not toys, I know 4 ppl that have owned rx7's and have destroyed them including myself. The Turbos are really fun and this is what makes them dangerous. Dont be an idiot driving what ever you do. There are way to many 16 year olds out there buying TII as thier first cars and completly destroying them because of idiotic ****.
Just take it easy at first, and always check with us for anything you need for your car.

1: WILL 10 PSI BE TOO MUCH FOR THE MODS I LISTED?
10psi will be ideal with a fcon+walbro and the stock IC.
2: DO I NEED 720S, AND THE GCC TO BE SAFE AT 10-11 PSI?
No. But it would be good to get an EGT gauge and keep an eye on it just incase. You never know if someone sent that fcon to be remapped, and what the new map is.
3: WITH FMIC AND 720S CAN I RUN 12-13PSI WITHOUT BLOWING IT UP???
Yep.. But youll be wanting a bigger turbo after that.

2. I ran 10-11 pounds for 9 months with just the walbro. My A/F numbers rose to 12.5ish:1 from about 3800-4000 right when the secondaries were kicking on, and then settled into a 11.2-11.3:1 a/f ratio all the way to redline. This was at nearly 11psi. I would highly suggest getting the car on the dyno with a wideband and seeing first what your a/f numbers are, and then see if you can adjust the fuel pump with the fconn. If you can't that means you're injectors are maxed out already.
3. a walbro with 720's is more than enough fuel for anything the stock turbo can throw at you.

I ran 10 psi for about a year with the stock pump, before i upgraded. My friend tried it, and his engine went a month later. How about you do a compression test and find out the status of your motor, BEFORE you dump any serious amounts of cash into your project. Adress the weak issues first.

ok you guys are lots of help... thanks.
i got the fcon and DP from a member on here, and its not modded.. its set for a 87 tii.
my injectors and all are getting cleaned now and everything is getting adjusted at the roto-shop. luckly my room mate's dad owns a shop, and there is a former rotary, lambo, and bmw mechanic workin there. he is pretty cool.
i drove it up the first time and he heard a boost leak, popped the hood and pointed right to it. i could not find it. so anyway its gonna be tuned and strong.
so i guess 10lbs is where im gonna try to limit it to.
once I get all the bugs of the car all worked out im gonna send off a s5 turbo to bnr or similar turbo show for a upgrade and gonna look into a sarian (sp?) FMIC with custom pipeing, bigger injectors and the GCC for the FCON so i can get the bigger injectors tuned.
yes I know i need a EMS... but its outta my budget for a while.. maybe christmas.
and im already savin for a rebuild.... just in case.
