the lower bushing isn't. Believe me, I just installed my mazdatrix short shifter not too long ago.

But if you like the way your shifter feels, than your lower bushing is probably still good. If it's bad, you'll be able to wiggle the shifter around when it's in gear, with my new one I can barely wiggle it around at all.

as far as that bolt, you can either replace that whole part of the transmission or just drill and tap it as the next bigger size and use a new bigger bolt.

all the ebay short shifters have the lowest bushing, although they probly arent delrin like that MMr piece you put up

for less than 30 you can get all the bushings(including the lowest) and the short shifter... check it

$30 you cant expect much, the bushing they give will probably last less then a year
