best double sided tape to use

So i just painted my car, and know i need to put the moldings back on. I was just curious as to if there are any brands i should or should not get. I know i could go to the store and ask the guy behind the counter who could give a ****, but i would rather ask other 7 owners, thanks.

+1 3M

Clean both area's with rubbing alcohol immediately before sticking the tape (let it dry/evaporate of course).

if you do not have all the old tape off both surfaces no tape will work well

+the big number on 3m

Most recently used for a roof spoiler on a 2008 civic. Tape isn't just for old cars!

^^what he said, scrape EVERY bit of old crap of and prep the molding and the cars panel. The 3M stuff works well.

3m molding tape is some serious stuff, lots of holding power. but you should also you some kind of adhesive(ie windo weld, silicone, liquid nail. etc....) just in case and also to help hold it flat.

Would 3M double sided automotive tape hold on a duckbill spoiler that had its studs chopped off?

3m double sided emblem tape, Perfectly clean paint and scuffed back of molding where tape would go, wax and grease remover before application, been 11 years for me, its all still stuck to the car.

To remove old adhesive use a rubber eraser on a drill, eastwood sells them.

Good question. So what would hold it on other than the studs?

I have one with the studs still on but I thought about cutting them off since I'll prolly go w/ a different spoiler when I get the car painted and would rather not have to fill the holes....
