stock brakes are fine, its not like they'll wear out anytime soon after you get them, they are very grippy for stock brakes

Well..stock pads are good, but pretty expensive. I've got Hawk HPS pads on mine, they work GREAT, and they're 50 a pop. Much better than the autozone **** I had on it before.

that's mostly coming from you fluid heating up, and your stock rubber lines expanding. Get some Stainless steal braided brake lines, and some high quality, high temp brake fluid. The system could probably use a good flush anyway. Seriously lines, and like some Motul brake fluid, it'll make a world of difference.

On a side note, I have no clue what the PO put on my car, but my pads/rotors have ~40K miles atleast and there's plenty of thickness left.

I'd say that's good wear.

Get the Ford spec DOT 3 fluid. Cheapest stuff out there and has a 550F dry boiling point. The only problem is that it absorbs water faster than other fluids so you have to change it more often. If you use this stuff with pretty much any pad, I will be very surprised if you have brake problems.

Odds are that the reason you are fading is due to old brake fluid or air in the lines.
