Benefit from using an auto starter on my TII?

The staters for the TII and NA cars are rated at 1200W while the auto trans starter is rated at 2000W. Would the extra power make a difference?

It cranks with more torque but I think its only interchangeable with TII starters.

Waste of time, the 1.2kW starter works fine. If you're having starting problems then fix what's wrong.

I agree that fixing the problem is always the best choice. But they are not always the quickest fix. Searching for wireing or vacuum leaks comes to mind.

That being said. Will the more powerful starter actually help? Will it spin the engine slightly faster, or get to its speed quicker?? The reason i ask is that my car has bizzare starting problems. And some times i think that just a few more RPMs on the starter will get it going. Would be a lot quicker, temporary fix, untill i figured out why it starts better with the "starter wire" to the ECU cut when the engine is warm.

What if the starting problem is bigass ports? or whatever..

I'd imagine that having nearly double the rated power with the 2.0kw auto starter is probably a good upgrade for TII's with starting problems that cant otherwise be fixed... I know a few times I've wished for a better starter when it felt like my 10AE would /allmost/ start.. yes usually when hot too I think.

now I have aftermarket EMS in my S4 and a practically brand new s5 that never ever has trouble starting regardless of weather - but still, its probably not

i did a t2 and 5speed swap, and found that i could use the auto starter on my t2 tranny. it cranked kind of slow, but when i got a t2 starter it turned over alot faster. so u t2 drivers if u put that starter on ull b pissed off. been there and done that, it would be a good upgrade for an auto 7 though. lata

you should still be able to start a bridgeported car with a standard starter.
