belt question

my AC doesnt work right now, but i do plan on fixing it

would there be any harm in removing the AC belt until summer? i figure that little less drag on the engine wouldnt hurt

It wont hurt man.....you could just take the whole thing out too.....free up a little space.
lol
I'm just kidding man, the belt not being in there wont hurt what so ever.

The compressor isn't being turned unless the AC is turned on. The only thing spinning is the outer pulley, as the compressor is connected to the engine via a clutched pulley. There's not any advantage to taking the belt off. You might see 0.1% more power and milage, if that.

ya theres really no advantage like he ^ was saying. but if you do take it off nothign bad will come of it.. other than you have to put it back on come summer

i was thinking also that it would save a little wear on the AC bearings
