i dont know what is going on w/ my n/a when i get below a quarter tank of gas i hit my brakes my lights shut off and come backon my dash dims and my radio and laser detector shut off and comes back on but then when i fill it up everything works fine is that odd?
My guess is that it's not caused by the level of gasoline in your car even if that's when it usually occurs. The only thing I can think of fuel related would be if your fuelpump started to overheat due to having less fuel to cool it surrounding it. Then your car would get less fuel, would be more sluggish, the alternator would get less charge causing everything to dim.
That's quite a conspiracy theory. haha. Yeah, I doubt low fuel can make your lights dim. How about a lose battery cable?

well right when i bought the car i ran it almost empty down into the red and my gas light came but that was a year ago today. my alternator is charging 14 volts. i was thinking it could be a fuse or a relay. tomarow i will be at the point where it might start doing it. but when winter comes it wont be the same car and it wont have that problem.

I'm pretty proud of my little FC though. I only ran out of gas once and I was going up a very steep hill with a gas station on top, lol.

1. It might not be related to lack of fuel in the tank. In this case, it's likely caused by a vacuum leak or a bad/sticking BAC valve.
2. Your fuel baffle is missing from the tank. This is a "bucket" which surrounds the fuel pickup in the tank and assures the pump can still suck in fuel even when the tank level is low. When you hit the brakes, fuel sloshes away from the tank, the pump starves and the engine almost dies.
3. Both 1 and 2.
