Question Help

Ok, i know is been posted before, but bear with me. My car is having trouble starting. Its like every morning it dosnt want to, ill turn the ignition, and it starts up real slow, dosnt even go to warm up as often as it used to. And today, it died. Went inside a store, came back out and all i got is the engine cranking, no starting. So when it kinda decides it wants to like it usually does, it shakes, horibbly bad. of course with the after smell of gas and exhaust, but it still wont start, just dies, you can hear it and everything, it just wont come up above 1k rpm. I dont know what it is, last time it was the spark plugs, but do are they supposed to go out every 2k miles? Somebody with the same problem or advice, please help me. 1990 N/A GTU 5spd. 108k miles

When you turn it over, does it turn over real slow? Could be a sign of a almost dead bettery. As for the starting... I hate to be a pessimist, but I think you should do a compression test to make sure that your seals are still intact. If so, I'd suspect a broken TPS, clogged fuel filter, bad coil, etc...

Also, spark plugs should last around 10-15k miles.

It dosnt turn over real slow, the battery is good. It just starts up really sluggish sometimes, then stalls out, or just dosnt want to start period. It started this morning but didnt go up to the warm up stage, and i have to give it a little gas to keep it from stalling. Thanks for the help and advice, if you have anymore please feel free to what i should do checkup wise. Just replaced oil filter, new oil, air filter. Spark plugs 3k ago. Somethin else i should check? Fuel filter and pump maybe? Thanks

Vacuum leaks. Fuel Filter is also a good thing to change, especially if it's still the original at 108k miles

Yea you cold find all this searching. Do all as above. It is flooding for sure. Ither bad injectors just poring fule into there or your compresion is low, indicating you need to rebuild the motor asap befor it blows and takes out a housing and or rotor with it.

I am going to go with low compreshion and then injectors or both.

it is easier to cold start than to warm start it...
flooding would have no effect on your slow cranking...

*sigh* some people.... do what white87fc saids...
