That buzzer is annoying sometimes! It goes off for a number of reasons, do you notice any of the warning lights when it goes off? You say it happens after driving a little while, perhaps there is something faulty that is heat-related. Sorry I'm not more help, maybe this will get somebody else thinking....

Probably the low coolant buzzer. Check your coolant level- and try to get any air bubbles out of the cooling system.

Is it a buzzing or a beeping? Is your speedo working ok? You said that your power steering is out, which could mean that your speed adjust for that is making that beeping noise. My 86 had the speedo go out, so the power steering had no signal, and it made this terrible beep...beep...beep...beep after about 5 minutes of the car warming up.

Ted is correct, it is your power steering computer. THe RX-7 power steering is speed sensitive, so since your speedo is not working, the power steering computer is not getting any input and therefore is producing an error code. I would check the Speedo cable and make sure it is hooked up at the transmission and also at the back of the speedo guage.

The symptoms you have for power steering has something to do with either:
1) What Ted said about the computer -OR-
2) Your speedo cable is not connected.
Check to make sure your speedometer is working.
I had the same problems as you about the power steering. As it turned out, since the speedometer has a "speed sensor" in the dash that connects to the power steering computer, it uses it to calculate a value for the steering to be "stiff" (at high speeds) or "soft" (at low speeds). If you start your car, you recycle the computer and it is set automatically for soft, but once you go over a certain speed, since you don't have the other variable (the speed sensor signal) to compute the tension in the PS, the computer shuts off the PS until you recycle the computer again (by turning the car off).
Hopefully its the inexpensive route (the cable) which was my problem..
