One thing I didn't see covered in the FAQ was a continuous beeeeee... from the PS controller. I haven’t quite figured out what it means, but on my newly resurrected '87 NA, I get the beee... when it's cold. The PS is totally stiff until the engine warms up (about 20min), then the beep stops, and the PS works again.

As an aside, I've noticed allot of people have removed their PS pumps, but kept their PS gear boxes, saying they liked the feel better at speed. I'm surprised they noticed a difference at speed, since the PS system is proportional. It should be offering little to no assist at speed; just my observation.

P.S. yes, that is my real name, and yes, this is my first post.

Continues buzzers are not from the power steering system, but either the CPU (lights on, key in- door open, or alt failure) or from the gauges (low oil, low coolant, over rev).

A stiff power steering when cold is cold solder joints in the power steering CPU on the power lead. You won't get a beep from that as, there is no power going through the power steering computer.

I've got something similar to that. I removed my ps pump and have a stand alone. But I still get the beep. Haven't been able to figure it out yet, but i'm positive its something gay that I will never figure out. I give up who wants my car? Its just a headache right now. No money and no patients left..............
