1/4 mile times don't mean jack compared to top speed runs.... different. just because something is faster at one doesn't mean it's better at the other too.

Yeah, abecx is right. I remeber seeing a STOCK 5.0 run a 14.01 ......... Too bad it was falling off of a 1/4 mile tall cliff when the guy clocked that time.

5.0's with flowmasters would lose to my stock T2 all the time around here (when it was still stock). Hmm, i remeber driving by abecx's house now that i think of it! Yes, it was the one with the rusty trailer, 20 stray cats, 3 broken mustangs on the front lawn right next to the old computers and 3D cards that couldnt support his need for general online stupidity. Dont **** him off though, he will start bitching about how Spock could kick Captain Kirks *** in a fight, and how Scotty has a stock 5.0 that runs a 7.85 second quarter mile. Of course, i dont know if he could PROVE any of this.....

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHH....not again.

Lets just get it over with. Mustangs suck, rx7s suck, camaros suck, dsm's suck (that might be true )...everything just sucks. Guess we'll all just have to go ahead and deal with how much our stuff sucks and find new hobbies. The only thing that's good is

Damn, I'm going to bed, my head hurts.

I know it's not hard to redline 4th in an NA, but I'm having a hard time believing that you went into 3rd (story changed) from 55, and shifted th 4th and redlined 4th in less than a 1/4 mile in an NA.

ummm...my bro's roommate went 14.40 in a bone stock conv. 2001 Mustang. He also works for Ford and, for practical purposes, is damn near a pro driver.

Thats a very good time for a stock car! However, a 14.4 is not a 14.01, nor are you a doorhole like abecx. Congrats on the time though.....

Arrow just for the hell of it

hey im new to the board and want a rx7 but for now i have a 2001 GT Mustang. Bone stock sans 99 cobra IRS and exhaust. Ill take it to the track saturday and scan my slip in for ya. I consider myself a decent driver ( i dont suck and im not John force) that should end the what runs what stock crap. And for the record i think its feasable that the rx7 in question could hang with a Mustang from a 55 mph roll, but not for long. Its just a little too much speed for 2nd (which is good til about 65 at redline). Muscle Mustang and fast fords says that their stock project 01 gt ran a 13.73 in the qt, just so you know, but they have evan smith the "t-5 bandit" at the helm. Tends to help the et.
The part of the story where you would smoke the mustang is the corner at the end of the stretch. Mustangs sit too high from the factory.
Oh and one last thing, where does the thread starter live. Ill meet him on the road and settle this once and for all. Then we'll know. Better hurry though, I'm selling this car!

The ol' mustang talk. Gotta love it! Well anyway any decent car with lets say $5000 spend in the right places could beat most any cars that are stock. Oh and saying an N/a can only do 14 in the 1/4 mile is quite off.

This is complete bullshit. Ive driven 2 N/A second gens, and they were weak. My old 88LX 5.0 would easily stomp an N/A Rx7, but then again it wasnt stock. I had 2 of the cats removed . I also had 13 second DSM's decline to race my mustang after riding in it, and I know none of you are beating AWD DSMs. Face it, Turbo is the only way to go.

Where are you located in Michigan? I'd really like to check out your car, I have always liked Mustangs. I haven't gotten a chance to see the new GT's at all. My old roommate has a 96 Cobra BPU++...Vortech, etc, all the goodies except a stroker kit. I love that car.
I'd like to see what my TII can do against your GT. I'm pretty sure I'll lose, but I don't care. We can find a nice twisty 10 mile road somewhere and I'll redeem myself .

I had a little race off the line.....kinda a 5mph roll, with a brand new GT. We raced until about 50mph and he was not quite a car length ahead. I have a GXL with a K&N filter and no cats. Whoever says n/a's can't compete with Mustangs is full of *****.

Just noticed another post here. TII's will work stock 5.0's. No questions asked.

Not true. My old LX5.0 would own a stock TII. Maybe I had a SuperStang or something.
