this dude where i use to work has an orange civic si, with the average rice mods....(not what he has, but im sure he has an exhaust and intake atleast)
anyway he says the supercharger took his HP up to like 240 or so, and he claims that his real HP is more like 260 but he wont tell what he has done to it to achieve that....

my question is can i beat him.....and if i can then how bad....
I have an 88 TII tree-hater, with the TB mod done as well....
i've been told im pushing around 200 to the ground due to the extra boost cause by the emissions elimination.

There is only one way to find out. JUST RACE HIM. It's all fun and games. Unless you are racing for money, and if you lose then its your own damn fault for doing it in the first place.

that problay puts him into the 20 second qtr mile now. let just put it this way if I ever got beat by a civic si I would kill myself. even with a super charger.

 

Ok, here's what you do, race him. if he wins and starts bragging tell him you want to race again but this time you get to chose the spot. Take him to a nice twisty road and kick his *** in the corners.

 

dont get me wrong, I hate civics, but i know he would be lower than 20 on the 1/4

i just want to know how much HP im pushing and if i can kill him or not...

Ask him what type of supercharger it is. If its a vortech, then I wouldnt doubt 240hp to the ground. However, those arent very good from a stop (from a roll it will eat you though). Its its a JRSC (jackson racing) hes not over 200fwhp. If you're at 200rwhp, and he has a JRSC w/ pulley, and assuming you both can drive and have decent tires it should be a close race.

 

the vortech with the IC has been known to put down some sick peak numers on the si and gsr. However those numbers are exactly that - peak. I hate centrifugal blowers on small displacement motors. Turbo on a stick...just go turbo. The <4k power is just about the same and then it starts to fly towards 8k. Either way if he is claiming that high of power to the wheels it has to be vortech. If he's saying 260 at the flywheeel...then that is possible with the JRSC on the si if it was tuned by Jesus, and had the 10 psi pulley with a ported head blah blah blah. Bottom line - race him.
