Battery tie down prob

for whatever reason, my battery isent tied down.
and just recently, it has been sliding off its base.

im trying to figure out something temporary that i can use to keep it in place....

i need to find 2 long strips of velcro or something, anyone haver a quick fix for me?

I just use the strips of metal that have holes in them every 1/4 inch or so and you just bolt them down so the battery wont slide around. I am not sure what its called but it comes in a little bag, should be easy to spot in the hardware section of say fred meyers or something. best of luck, hope u find it alright

use zip ties.. that will keep it down for a bit!

You should either get the factory one (mew or from a wrecker) or go buy a universal bracket. A loose battery is dangerous, if it moves it could arc and cause a fire.

mine wasn't either. I just used a battery retaining strap thing off another car...

Is the battery tray in good shape?

These plastic things break, especially at where the factory tie down rods poke in.

These are a dime a dozen at most any wrecking yard. So go buy a complete set of tray, two rod hold down, and (if possible) the battery box and box lid.

Absolutely, don't put this off. Dangerous driving with the battery loose like that!

i think for the time being im going to use those mini bungy cord holders.
my battery base wore in taill end of the car, so when i hit it, or while driving over the smooth new york city streets and hit 7000 bumps, it pops back onto the motor. im deffially fixing that tomorrow.

Man, it is your car and you can do what you want,,but

Bungee will not cut it. Fix it right so we do not have to read about your tragic battery fire. PLEASE!!!!
