Here's where my battery is.

I got the box from Mazda

RP did the install but, the cables look like they could be had at any auto parts store.

The cables run under the car to the box.

Here is mine:

I just used the stock box, and latched the lil hooks on to a hole that was already there and a hole I cut in that lil aluminum plate. I then ran the wire inside and under the car right behind the drivers seat and then to the starter. I recently added a nice fuse block with a 200 amp fuse just in case the line ever gets damaged. I'll post some more pics of it when I get a chance. I bought the wiring kit from summit with 1 guage wire. I then used the old power wire to run from the starter to the fuse box under the hood. Leave the starter ground as it is and you're all done. It lightened up the steering effort a lil and you can tell when moving at lower speeds.

Sorry no pics here...

But I use 1-gauge generic welding wire from front to back.&nbsp I have two Phoenix Gold 200A circuit breakers, one in front and one in back.&nbsp The connectors are all Phoenix Gold gold plated crimp rings.&nbsp I use two circuit breakers, because I'm paranoid about electrical short protection.&nbsp I used a generic "marine" battery box from Kragen - you can get these from Wal-Mart too.&nbsp Box ix bolted down uding 3/8" stainless steel hardware with "fender" washers for reinforcement directly to the bottom of the bins area on the passenger side.&nbsp You can see the top of the battery box here...

Oops, about costs...

Battery box is less than $20.
Cable can be bought for $1-$2/foot from a welding shop.&nbsp The car uses about 15 feet if that stuff.
The expensive pieces are the Phoenix Gold connectors and circuit breakers.&nbsp I've got all of the PG stuff from Parts Express http://www.partsexpress.com/ - $75 per circuit breaker and another $50 for the crimp connectors.

15 feet is a lil on the high side. I think I used about 9 feet; which is still alot but that's why you run 1 or 0 guage. If a 5,000 watt stereo can get enough juice out of a 1 guage cable I'm sure the starter can get enough out of it. And the ignition has the luxury of an alternator.

I think it just passes for the current requirement (100A average) for the length...
