Sealed moroso box bolted in the back of the hatch.

This is my setup...
-Pos battery lead to moroso master cut off (behind license plate)
-Pos lead 8 gauge wire from alt to battery post
-Pos cut off lead from to pos chassis lead
-All grounds bolted to the chassis

i've heard in some cases it could be a fire hazard to keep it in the back, maybe thats just if you wire it improperly though

What about sealed batteries?

I hope they're ok because I plan on doing a battery relocation pretty soon as well.

Why would you want to do this when weight distribution is already ~50/50?

There are many reasons for this. For example the weight distrubution of the car may be almost 50/50 but when anything is inside the car or added it is already changed. Relocating the battery also cleans up the engine bay as well as possibly improve the 50/50 weight distribution if you move if to the right side of the rear since the driver is sitting in the front left.

1FastT2, i like the way that looks alot!

is that a kit or did you fab up that battery holder....i would like to do that, as it wouldnt tie up one of my bins...

does anyone know if they sell kits that are like that?....i dont have to have my battery just hanging out in my rear bin....i think that is a nice alternative!

Summit Racing sells battery relocation kits, as does most any other speed shop. Please use sealed batteries. Having flooded lead acid batteries in the passenger compartment is a safety hazard.

And if you are going to relocate the battery, make sure that the battery is really mounted down.

I have heard of three people now, that rolled or accidentally off-roaded their FC's with the battery relocated, and the battery came loose and went flying.

I 'm running a Taylor Battery Box in my passenger bin. I have a vented tube outisde the car and two cutoff switches in case someting goes wrong.

I have two steel plates welded onto the car so the battery tray won't move or fly off. I had the entire battery box shift once on track. Freaked the hell out of me, lost total power in the car, luckily I coasted to a stop. If you put it in the bins you need to reenforce it very well..

1FastT2 where do you run the wires through?? Did you go under the car? I'm in the process of rewireing my fuel pump(once that hit and run bitch gives me my insurance money!) so under the sidestep is already taken, if thats the way you used...

Some preliminary work on mine:

I still need to make the sealed lid for the battery's homemade box (hidden under the deck and bin lid).
