battery drain

battery drain

ok, i have a drain on my battery, with both cabels disconnesctd i reat 110 ohms of resistance between the cables. take out the btn fuse and it skyrolets to the thousands. am i doing this horribly wrong or what? lol, i feel stupid right now.

Measuring current draw is a better procedure for doing this...

Take the negative cable off then measure amps between the post and the cable.

ok so with it set to amps, i read .34 as is, and .17 with the btn fuse pulled.
i go into the interior and pull the room fuse and put the btn back in, and now...
.17, so my draw is on the room fuse. probably my radio id guess. what else besides dome and door lights are onthat fuse? anything prone to failure?

sure you are not missing a zero there?... .035A to .065A is normal draw, with anything over .1A being rather high, and enough to drain a good condition battery in a couple of days.

Clock, door switch, hatch light? You can maybe start by unpluging the radio and lights and see if it goes away.

well my battery will drain in about 3 days to a no start point so its pretty bad. i know the radio is a hack job install, im trying to find a stock cd player and harness to correct that problem so i think its probably there
