i just put a new new battery in my car to start it up and see if it would hold a charge and keep running and the headlights worked great and i turned the key...and nothing...didn't even turn over...and the other lights on the front and back worked great..the headlight came up very quickly and everything..i do have no gas...but if i had no gas it would still turn over right? what is going on here

Is it a new one or rebuilt one? You might have just got a faulty one. However, doing a curcuit test will track down the problem pretty quick, and you'll get to see how the rest of the electrical system is. At least it will end the guessing game.

Your local mechanic shop, that has the equippment to do it............ Make sure you trust this person to do it, becuase if you don't know how much volts certain parts should be running at, they can basically tell you that parts are bad when they are acually good!
