Bare minimum to run a carb'ed setup?

First thing I want to ask is I have access to several holly 4 barrel carbs...is there any real difference in the tune between the V8's these went on and the 13b I plan to put it on?

Ok, after that, I want to run a carbed setup on the car. What's the bare minimum? I'm going to build another ultra-light FC and I'm wanting to completely strip the car and only throw in the bare necessities for running. This includes yanking the fuel tank and using an 11 gallon plastic fuel cell I intend to build a shielded box for in the hatch (might stick with the stock tank but dunno). I also want all of the interior gone. I just want there to be two seats, a switch panel, a guage panel (tach, oil, water, a/f), and a steering wheel (obvious pedals/shifter/etc).

Anyways, how do I control the ignition for the car? Don't I just hook 12v up to a coil, then run a line from the coil to the distributor, and it'll go from there? Not very familliar with this. Would there be ANY benefit to trying to use the stock ignition setup and leaving the ECU and everything there?

i've read of people using the ecu for ignition. if i'm wrong about this, sorry, but i swear i've read it before. i believe its supposed to run better. its not a suggestion to do, just a suggestion to look into to see if its worth it. good luck.

I know ppl use the stock ignition from time to time but I want to know of benefits from doing it.

I'll be making my own manifold.

Don´t try and run the stock ignition without all the sensors, it will ´work´ but not 100% corectly..
Trust me on that one

Just plonk in a 12a distributor like I have in mine.

I personally wouldn´t touch a holly with a 20ft barge pole coated with anti-septic though.

IMHO go for the tried and proven webber.
